Palm Sunday!

A tradition at the Coldwater United Methodist Church is to have the children carry palm branches to the altar on Palm Sunday.  These two might have had just a tad bit too much fun waving those palm leaves!!

I don't have the words to express what a blessing our church family is to us and how grateful I am that they go out of their way to make things fun & engaging for the kids.

What can I say about this picture?

This afternoon/evening we spent time at our school carnival!  Preston's class had a BINGO booth that we worked at and then played lots of carnival games.  Among them were the ring toss, beanbag toss, football throw, train, moonbounce, fishing, bucket toss, cake walk, duck pond, crazy hair, face painting...but the most interesting game of the night goes to...toilet paper toss!

Cambree thought it was pretty funny to see a toilet in the gym!

I have to say I was just happy to see it lined with a plastic bag...GROSS!

We have been doing at Easter Egg Countdown {more on the other blog} and today our egg said to "Make an Easter Treat and EAT it!"

So we made bunny shaped rice krispie treats and decorated them with icing and sprinkles that Grandma Robin gave us.  We tried putting them on popsicle sticks, but they were too soft!  We like our rice krispies on the soft side!

Westynn has a puff in his mouth...no rice krispie treats yet!  But notice the measuring spoon.  A baker in the making!!

This has to be one of my favorite stories for my 365 project so far!

Today we were having a planning meeting for our church dinners with the Kitchen Krew around my dining room table. We were deep into our brainstorming and planning when the doorbell rang.

In walked the son and daughter-in-law of our fearless leader, Pat H. She had reminded her son for several days that her birthday was coming up and mentioned to him that he always seemed to forget it. So to prove to her that he cared, they called the husband of another Kitchen Krew member to find out where the meeting was and they came and suprised her with a plant and a gift. We all sang Happy Birthday to her and of course I had to document it before they could leave and our meeting could continue!

I hope my kids will do that for me one day! I can't wait to print this picture and share it with my friend Pat!

Making cookies today! YUM YUM!

Cambree and Preston wanted to have ice cream sandwiches. I told them maybe tomorrow since they had already eaten a cookie. Cambree asked, "Are those the cookies buns, Momma?"

I am not sure if this is baby naptime or a complete take-over of the family furniture!

Getting back into the swing of things from our spring break trip...plus momma developed a migraine and she just didn't feel like thinking of something to photograph today!

What should have taken us 6 hours took us 10 today! That's what I get for trying to take a road trip alone with three kids. It was worth it though to spend some time with family.

{I am really loving this picture for some odd reason...I shouldn't considering when it was taken! I think I like it because it speaks volumes about my life in general; a good portion of it being spent "on the road".}

This is my Grandma Betty, my dad's mom, with my three kids. Right now they are her only Great-Grandkids and it makes me so happy that they know her and love her. And that she is still able to enjoy them as well!

Not many kids get to know their great-grandparents and I hope one day these three will look back and know how truly fortunate they were. {I feel a blog post coming to the other blog.}

Getting a lesson in pool from Papa Rusty. After a quick lesson, Preston thought he was pretty good! He did have a good time "practicing" at Papa Rusty's during spring break.

Getting a lesson on the wolves from our favorite zoology teacher, Melissa!

{Okay, so maybe it wasn't a lesson, but I love how they are all listening to whatever it is she is telling them!}

Me and the office help!! Carolyn took this picture of me and the rugrats at the church and I absolutely LOVE IT!

I love that the boys have on camo, the girls are in bright green, Westynn is looking at Preston and we all look like we are having fun!

Don't get me wrong, there are often moments of exhaustion and desperation at the church. But we are also really lucky to be able to "go to work" together and have some fun too!

If I ever get to put these things away for good I will get down on my knees and weep a prayer of thanksgiving!!

Hard to believe this little boy turned 2!! Were does the time go? We are glad we got to go down and help Jaris celebrate his birthday.

He LOVED the really loud, obnoxious gun we got him. His mom, not so much!! But I warned her at Cambree's party that what goes around, comes around {ie. 500 beads for bracelets!!}

03.13.10

Another typical Saturday...no picture!

We have a little problem with our drawers!! They just WILL NOT close themselves...ARGH!

Parent - Teacher Conferences today! Preston got an excellent report from Mrs. Jackson. She told us that he is a great student...very smart, kind to others, follows directions and she loves to hear his stories during show-n-tell! He got satisfactory marks and is at or above all of the progress marks.

Preston, Momma always knew you would be a good student. Thank you for proving me right and making your Dad and I SUPER proud of you!!!

Pearly Whites! Can you see them? The two bottom middle teeth have poked through. We are that much closer to being a big boy and not a baby anymore...slow down please, Momma is not ready to let her baby grow up!

Trash Day...enough said!

Some quality time with Dad on the 4-wheeler checking cows. What you don't see in this picture is that not only were Cambree and Daddy on the 4-wheeler, but Mommy and Jack too! We are going to need a bigger set of wheels when Westynn and Oscar decide they are big enough to ride!

03.07.10

This little fellow hasn't felt good for two days straight now and his Momma is running low on steam. Spring can't get here fast enough and two weeks of being sick is PLENTY for this year. Thank you.

LIFE. The game. My kids love to play this game. I think it's mostly so they can collect the money and spin the wheel.

03.05.10

OSCAR_1

We have went off the deep end and decided to add to our family...AGAIN! This little cutie came to live at our house tonight and he already wagged his chocolate brown tail into our hearts {and under our coffee table}!

03.04.10

03.04.10

Isn't this the cutest little carrot face you have ever seen? Westynn is becoming quite the messy eater, but he LOVES his food!

I love how it appears to be dripping from his nose.

03.03.10

03.03.10

Cambree playing with some of her new birthday crafty supplies! She wants to keep her coat on, even though I have asked her, "Do you want to take your coat off and stay awhile?"

SICK AGAIN!!

This is what all three of the kids did most of the day...but not all at the same time. You could say this is one tired Momma. Who is just hoping she doesn't get sick too.

A lunchtime snuggle between Westynn & Jeremy!

Showing Papa Rusty how to play the Lego: Indiana Jones game he got Preston for Christmas. I don't think he ever did catch on to all of Preston's instructions!

Miss Cambree Jane is 4 years old today! I can't beleive it has been this long since she came into our lives and turned them upside down!

We sure do love you, sweetheart!

02.26.10

02.26.10

Hangin' with Alyssa, playing the Wii game that she brought over! We just love this girl. The kids adore her and she is soooo good with them. What will we do in a few years when she leaves for college?

Notice the HUGE pile of laundry on the couch? The kids have been folding their own laundry and putting it away. I sort it for them and they are responsible for the rest. It's working nicely...except that the clothes don't get folded, mostly just shoved into drawers. But I keep telling myself that they will learn over time and it is saving me an incredible amount of time with the housework!

02.25.10

02.25.10

The first of what I am sure is going to be MANY wrestling matches between these two! I don't know who won the first one; I think it was a draw.

02.24.10

02.24.10

Preston feels good enough today to show me the birds he shot over the weekend! This kid is going to have the biggest hunting album of any 6 year old little boy...and if he isn't careful, the ranch will be birdless by summer!

02.23.10

No picture today...sick kid!

Our bedroom dresser has been taken over by decorations for the big 4th birthday coming up on the 27th!
