BIRTHDAY PARTY WEEK! We will celebrate Cambree's 4th birthday on Saturday, so I hope to document it all week long!

This is a picture of the buffet in my kitchen this evening! Birthdays require a lot of preparation here at our house because they are a BIG deal. And in order to have one fantastic celebration, we must first make a HUGE mess creating party decor!

And yes, that is a sticky note on the wall...I didn't want it to get lost in the chaos...

Just wait until you see the tulle and flower tablecloth I sewed for the Cambree's little red table!!

Jeremy in his evening perch!

We have a corn stove and it can be tempermental at times, so Jeremy spends a lot of time sitting in this chair monitoring the fire!

The corn stove is a blessing and a curse.

But at least he has plenty of time to browse these cattle catalogs and improve our herd!

Can you do this?

I am proud to say that I can! Even though that is about all I can do from Cambree's Friday morning gymnastics class.

We go each week from 10:15-10:45. She is in the beginners class and it requires parent participation! Luckily, we are just there to guide and assist and don't actually have to perform the "moves."

She is soaking this up and continues to improve each week! I just love seeing her in that adorable little leotard!

They are going to have a spring recital in April and I think it is going to be a wonderfully entertaining experience!

Library Day!

Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:00 the Coldwater Library has a preschool story hour. Cambree LOVES to read, so this is super fun for her. It also helps that Ellen, our librarian, is very nice and just adores Cambree.

Cambree is also getting to know another little boy that is her age and will be in her class. His name is Creed and he is just the sweetest boy.

I am so happy that Cambree {and Preston} enjoy reading...just like their momma! As a matter of fact, I checked out a book today and Cambree carried it home for me in her backpack. As I was getting ready for bed I noticed that she had put it on my nightstand for me...such a sweetheart!

I love this little bookworm!

More time outdoors! It is nice to have this spring-like weather, but it will make the turn back to cold that much more miserable!

He is still just stinkin' adorable! Like my good friend, Pat, says "I wish I could just bottle him up and keep him this age forever!"

Enjoying some nice weather! A walk downtown and then a little "stroll" around the driveway for Westynn.

FIRST TOOTH!!

We are officially on our way to our first visit from the tooth fairy!

Preston and Jeremy worked very hard for about 15 minutes to get his very first loose tooth OUT! I have a very sensitive stomach when it comes to these things, meaning matter of the mouth, and I took absolutely no part in it.

As a matter of fact, at the moment that I heard Jeremy say, "go show Mom" I about lost my lunch. I could just imagine what the two of them had done with that tooth!

Added: The tooth fairy came and she very generously gave Preston $1. The next morning he came to tell me that she had been there and had some great things to say.

"She must be good. I didn't even know she was there!"

Mom: "Wow, you will be rich by the time all your teeth fall out."
Preston "I already am. My piggy bank is full."

{Which I didn't believe but happened to be true when later in the week we took it to the bank and he deposited $34.20! Where that all came from I have NO idea!}

Hopefully all of his teeth are this easy when they come out....AND....I Don't have to help!

Once again, no photo to document the day!  Valentine's day no less...REALLY bad MOMMA!

I think I might be able to get something off my Flip, but right now my eyes are burning, so that will have to wait!

It was a great day though. Sunday school and church in the morning.  Pizza for supper and a date to the movies with Preston and Cambree.  They waited a long time for Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel to come to Coldwater and it finally came.

When it was over, Preston deemed it "Awesome!" and asked, "When does it come out of dvd?"

LOOK at these two sweeties! We get two dates a year...one on Valentine's Day and the other on our Anniversary. So this was our first official date of 2010! We left the kids with Grandma Robin & Papa Jene and went to Greensburg to eat Mexican food. Now, only 5 more months until our next date!!!

02.12.10

02.12.10

Cambree disappeared with my camera for several minutes this evening. This is just one of about 25 that I got when I uploaded them!!! She is definitely following in her momma's footsteps!

02.11.10

02.11.10

The funny things Cambree does in the afternoons! Today we were waiting on Preston to get home from school so we could go watch the Timberwolves play our friends from Ashland. So, what does Cambree do with her spare time...get in an empty laundry basket and dance!!! Where she learned some of her moves I will never know.

{The stamp on her arm is an ant and the word "READ" and she gets this same stamp in almost the exact same spot on her arm every Thursday during Library Time!}

Is it just me or does anyone else have this many missing socks too?! I just can't believe that not one of these socks has a mate...where did they all go?

02.09.10

New specs for Momma today! Yes they are purple again, because I will probably never be able to purchase another pair in a different color. These have some bling on the side and I LOVE them! Thanks to CJ for the picture!

02.08.10

OH!! This boy just gets me every. single. time! Just look at him...there's not much more to say! I am truly smitten with the youngest man in our house!

{sidenote: We needed some "bigger" bibs around here, so I dug out some flannel blankets that were too little to swaddle W with and cut them into some new, larger drool bibs...so soft and so comfy! Now I just need to make a dozen more!}

02.07.10

And so it begins...calving season is upon us and just in time for the snow!

Our first Red Angus calf was born today. Cambree was so excited to go and see her Strawberry babies. Preston came home more excited about the coyote that Papa saw out in the pasture. There is sure to be a coyote hunt soon!

I just love the babies!

A friendly game of Battleship. This version is not as fun as the electronic version of old, but still a good time.

I love watching Preston employ a strategy to try and "sink my battleship!" He can get quiet creative. Today it was to go through A-1, B-1, C-1, et...needless to say he didn't hit much, but he had a great design on his side of the board.

Her first trip to the dentist and she passed with flying colors!

Dr. Mathis loved her pink cowgirl boots.

Momma failed the test at the dentist and has to go back for fillings...boo!

Cambree went today and got a good portion of her hair chopped off!

She looks a lot more grown up now, but I can assure you that she is just as ornery as ever.

As her Momma, I am loving it, because it means less drama in the mornings!

Don't you just love this?

A little bit of Valentine's deliciousness!!  This is the best part of sewing...trying something I have pictured in my mind and having it turn out so much better than I had envisioned!  Now I just have to decide whether I can part with this little gem!!

02.02.10

02.02.10

It's Cambree's birthday month!  WooHoo!

And the party has already started!  She got this card in the mail today from the Wensler's with a check for her to go shopping with.  We immediately had to take it to the bank and get some cash.

So far, she hasn't decided for sure what she wants to get with it, but I can assure you that it will most likely NOT be a simple choice!

{P.S. I didn't think Aunt Janelle would appreciate a picture of her check on the web for all to see, so that's why we waited until we had the cash!}

02.01.10

02.01.10

Cambree has been doing a lot of little drawings lately and I absolutely LOVE them!  Preston didn't do a lot of drawing when he was this age, and he still doesn't now unless it is part of schoolwork.

So my heart gets really happy when CJ emerges from her room and hands me a picture and says, "Here Mom, I drew a picture of you!"

This is hanging on one of our art boards right now, but I think I will eventually frame it..it's that kind of speciale to me.

01.31.10

01.31.10

What I love about this project after the first month is that I am getting some fantastic photos and I am thinking about things in a whole new light.

Sunday afternoon we took some time to load up the kids in the sled and pull them around on the 4-wheeler for awhile.  What I didn't get a picture of was Cambree up to her neck in snow...Preston & I were laughing so hard on the back of the 4-wheeler!

This is one of the things I love most about living in a rural area during a snowfall...SLEDDING!  I hope my kids have as many fond memories of a good afternoon sledding as I do from when I was young.

01.30.10

Another day without a picture!  I guess Saturdays are just the day that I don't get behind the camera.  Don't really know why, just seems to be happening that way.  Oh well, there is always next Saturday!!

01.29.10

01.29.10

January 29th - Kansas Day!  I have some great memories of activities we used to do in school to celebrate the birthday of Kansas.  One of the downfalls of not having school on Fridays is that the kids missed this day to celebrate at school.

To me it seemed like the perfect excuse to bake up a batch of cupcakes and have a celebration of our own!  Besides eating cupcakes, the kids re-created the Kansas State Flag and we talked about the parts that make up the flag.

It was a fun afternoon and a great way to recognize our statehood!

01.28.10

01.28.10

I have pictures just like this of Preston and Cambree at this same age!  I guess there must just be something about babies on their tummies after their baths.  Westynn and Preston look just like twins at this stage!  Guess I need to dig through the archives and post a picture of both.

Don't you just love the drool?
